Call for hcmf// shorts proposals

Please note that the call for hcmf// shorts proposals has now closed.

hcmf// shorts is a series of short informal performances which this year will take place all day on Monday 21 November 2011 in various venues in Huddersfield. They provide up-and-coming musicians with a valuable platform to perform for members of the public, media and key music industry representatives at the UK's leading new music Festival.

Proposals are welcomed from all types of performers, and works can be especially composed or existing pieces. There are no age limits. Proposed programmes should be no longer than 20 minutes in duration.

hcmf// will provide:
• Music stands, chairs and microphones (on request)
• Piano (cannot be prepared)
• PA: 16 channel desk, 4 speakers, CD play back

How to apply:

Post your completed application form along with a separate proposal (which should be no longer than one side of A4) and supporting audio material to: Heidi Johnson, hcmf// shorts, Room TC/09, University of Huddersfield, Huddersfield, HD1 3DH, UK.

Please only submit one proposal per ensemble / performer and ensure that any audio material is directly relevant to your proposal.

Deadline for proposals: 10.00am, Monday 16 May 2011

After you've submitted your proposal, hcmf//'s Artistic Director, Graham McKenzie, will select a number of performers/ensembles to take part in hcmf// shorts 2011. You will be notified by Friday 27 May if your proposal has been chosen to feature in hcmf// shorts.
