Sarah Nicolls piano

Sarah Nicolls aims to embed instinctive performance into technology.
Her most recent collaboration with Atau Tanaka sees the hands and arms in a fluid relationship with the piano, teasing out sound from the space around - as well as inside - the instrument.
Tremblay brings the sonic focus right to the instrument by using a tight-knit array of speakers, creating drama in both improvised and vocal passages and Michael van der Aa's Transit sets the pianist as live component in a poignant film about loneliness.
